1856 CHAPTER 116

An Act for the Appointment of a Vice-President of the Committee of Council on Education. [29th July 1856.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the same, as follows:

Power to appoint a Vice-President of the Committee of Council on Education

It shall be lawful for Her Majesty, from Time to Time, by Warrant under Her Royal Sign Manual, to appoint any Member of Her Most Honourable Privy Council to be during Her Pleasure Vice-President of the Committee of the said Privy Council on Education, and to direct that a Salary not exceeding Two thousand Pounds per Annum be paid to such Vice-President out of any Monies to be provided for that Purpose by Parliament; and such Vice-President shall be capable of being elected and of sitting and voting as a Member of the House of Commons.
